“I am from Fenerive-Est, it is one of the bigger coast towns of East Madagascar. I wouldn’t want to live in a quiet, rural village. I love the buzz and liveliness of Fenerive-Est.
I have 6 older brothers. My father is a carpenter who makes furniture and sometimes builds houses. My mother died 2 years ago. She was a farmer but during quiet periods she would sell eggs.
I had a happy childhood going to the community house where movies are played and the music studio where I used to sing and make music with my brothers. The ‘Maison des Jeunes’ where we would play games and teach each other.
I did well at school, especially languages. I had a very good English teacher.
After high school I went to the University of Fenerive to study agronomy. But after seven months I had to stop because we couldn’t afford to pay for it any more. When I needed money I would sell clothes in neighbouring villages. Just before coming to Onja I worked as a teacher in a private primary school.
I am looking forward to becoming a coder. With my salary I hope to be able to give my future children a very good education.”
